The problem

We initially met our client in June 2015, who were looking for their first permanent hire to kick off their growth plans. However, with an unknown brand, they were struggling to attract high-quality candidates to the business and needed help finding such talent.


What the client needed

They needed a candidate with strong consulting experience at manager level, who had a diverse tool-kit across a variety of sectors. The right candidate would need to be self-sufficient as well as entrepreneurial, and keen to be part of something new where they could help shape the direction of the business. Someone not afraid to “roll up their sleeves” and be a real team player.


The search - Proactive

Our search was focussed on candidates working within the Big-4 and Accenture. Rather than receiving a flood of candidates and having to whittle it down, the client asked us to be very selective with who we submitted. After a couple of weeks of research we identified over 100 potential candidates, spoke and met with around 20 potential clients and submitted 3 candidates.


Results

Our client hired their first consultant in October 2015 after 4 rounds of partner interviews. The candidate was a Manager from Accenture, and they were impressed by his fantastic stakeholder management skills and his huge enthusiasm for being the first permanent hire, for a growing business. The candidate was impressed by their vision, integrity and values, as well as being excited by the type of projects that he would be working on. He was also keen to help shape their marketing strategy as the business grew.


The future

Due to the client’s continued growth plans and our success in finding their first candidate, it was agreed to implement a rolling retainer model for future placements. As of December 2017 we have successfully placed 7 candidates at the company and are looking forward to continuing our successful relationship and further helping our client’s growth.
