The problem

Due to strong growth our client needed an Associate Director to oversee projects and bring in new business for the strategy arm of the business. Key requirements were the gravitas to work with senior stakeholders, a strong consulting toolkit, a good understanding of the media sector and superb analytical skills.

The client had been looking for the right candidate for over 6 months without success before asking us to help.

The search

After consultation with the client it was decided that the Proactive service would be best suited. We focussed our search on candidates with experience working in top tier boutique strategy houses in London. After mapping the market and speaking to a number of candidates we drew up a short list of 3 candidates.

The interview process and successful candidate

The client met two candidates which resulted in them making an offer to one who has OC&C and EY Greenwich pedigree, as well as a strong knowledge of the media sector. After 2 rounds of interviews the client was impressed by the candidate’s fantastic analytical skills and consulting experience, as well as his ability to quickly build rapport. The candidate was impressed by their client base, the exciting projects they are working on and their future growth plans. He also liked the fact that everyone in the business is incredibly friendly.

The result

The candidate joined in September 2017 and is enjoying working on exciting media strategy projects.
